I noticed this magnolia a week or so ago, the red, "ripe" seed pods creating beautiful lights on the tree. But I was so busy I didn't take the time to stop and do my lunch portrait. Now I wish I had. But the bright beauty of seeds still makes me smile. Yes, some of the seeds have fallen off and the pod is looking a little past it's prime, but I'll bet those fallen seeds made the neighborhood birds happy. And if the midday light conditions blew out some of the highlights in the picture, who cares? Not me - the picture makes me smile. So I'm giving thanks on this day before Thanksgiving for a lunch time blessing.
