Oh, I Wish I Was

in the Land of Cotton. Well, right now I am. And my lunch portrait today is a close up of a cotton boll that never completely opened. The cotton crop has already been harvested in this area but lots of tufts of cotton remain on the plants. Today my mother and I drove around through the more agricultural parts of my home area - middle Georgia - and when we came across this cotton field I couldn't resist a picture or two (I'll post another one on another day). But for today here's a small portrait from the Land of Cotton.

Joy Journal: A beautiful spiral-sliced ham. Makes great sandwiches.
