Gentrification

Orange Grill

Went by my favorite spot to photograph some old, rusty things the other day and found many of them had been woefully desecrated - someone had painted and refurbished many of them! NOOOO!!! Seems the owner has some notion of actually trying to sell these items and figures people will be more likely to buy them if they've been spruced up. Sacrilege!! Fortunately, there were still a few things left to photograph (like the old tractor part above) but they had all been moved around, and the most interesting things were inside a large building being cleaned and painted. A large building with terrible lighting and no way to get good pictures. My heart is broken. There was an old, old car with seats missing, etc. that was surrounded by weeds, some of which were growing up through the interior of the car. Gone. Weeds cleaned up. Life just ain't fair sometimes. Gentrification has just reached out and bitten me on the, uh, well, uh, on the hand.
